Since 1991, researchers at the Brain Sciences Center have
used the team approach to combine their interdisciplinary scientific expertise
with the latest neuroimaging technologies in an effort to further understand
the basic workings of the dynamic, functioning mind, in both health and disease. Only
through this dedicated, collaborative effort will it be possible to uncover
the mysteries of the brain in the quest for better care, quality of
life, and prevention of neurological illness.
Investigators here each bring a unique perspective
from disciplines including neuroscience, neurology, neurophysiology, psychiatry,
cognitive and clinical psychology, biophysics, statistical analysis, scientific
computations, electrical engineering and music to study the brain. Our
expertise in the use of state-of-the art, non-invasive imaging technologies
such as MEG, fMRI and supercomputer modeling enable us to precisely, and
extensively, explore the living brain
